What is a user profile?

A user profile is "home base" for any registered user. On your profile page you can add to your blog, find your previously written reviews, check your contribution history, find updates about your favorite films, and manage your friends list.

What are user levels? How do I gain levels?

Levels are a fun and fair way to reward and identify prominent community members. Put simply, leveling is a scorecard that marks the loyalty of a user to MovieTome and the value of that user's contributions. Note that each level is harder to attain than the last one. Users can gain points toward a new level by taking a variety of actions on the site. These include but are not limited to:

• Simply visiting the site each day.
• Posting on the message boards or sending PMs to other users.
• Contributing new content to a film or actor.
• Writing reviews.
• Updating your profile by posting on your blog, adding a banner, making comments, or adding films to your lists.
• Commenting on news stories and other users' blogs.

What are friends? How does the friends system work?

MovieTome lets you add other users from the site to your "friends" list. Adding a friend is as simple as clicking the "track this person" button on any user's profile. Doing so lets you receive updates when that user updates his or her blog, posts a new review, or makes a post on the forums. Simply go to the "updates" tab in your profile page to see what your friends have been up to lately on the site. If for any reason you need to remove friends from your friends list, simply go to your "friends" tab, within your profile, and use the checkboxes to remove them.

Is there a charge for MovieTome?

MovieTome does not charge for any service. However, if you follow a supplied link, you may be charged by an outside company. Always exercise caution when supplying credit card numbers and be aware if you are entering into a paid transaction.

How do I cancel my account?

Because we do not charge for any service, there is no need to cancel your account. If you would like to opt out of the newsletter email, go to your 'preferences' page, or follow the 'unsubscribe' link at the bottom of every newsletter.
